Comedian Steve Hofstetter has canceled his January performance at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas's 24 Oxford venue, showing solidarity with striking hospitality workers. The show has been rescheduled for May 19 at Wise Guys Las Vegas Town Square.

Hofstetter, who has 823K YouTube subscribers, announced the cancellation on Facebook, citing the ongoing strike by Culinary Union workers. All tickets will be automatically refunded.

The Culinary Union, representing approximately 700 striking workers, praised Hofstetter's decision. Union secretary-treasurer Ted Pappageorge called it "a courageous stand for justice and fairness," noting that Virgin Las Vegas has allegedly threatened workers with permanent replacement and deportation.

Key points of the dispute:

• Workers seek salary increases and improved benefits
• Virgin Las Vegas offered approximately 30 cents per hour in wage increases
• The strike began on November 15
• The union wants an agreement similar to other Las Vegas casino-hotels

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas claims the Culinary Union is bargaining in bad faith and hasn't seriously countered their economic proposals or brought their latest offer to members for a formal vote.

The union continues to encourage other performers, customers, and conventions to boycott Virgin Hotels Las Vegas until the strike is resolved.
